sodium hydroxide is white translucent crystalline solid. Its aqueous solution has astringency and greasy feeling. [5] water absorption (deliquescence): sodium hydroxide is easy to deliquescence in air, so solid sodium hydroxide is often used as desiccant. [6] but the liquid sodium hydroxide has no water absorption.
